Cody Gysbers committed to 2022 men's roster

Victoria Highlanders FC are pleased to announce Cody Gysbers’ commitment to the 2022 men’s roster. Cody joins the Highlanders coming off winning the 2021-2022 Defensive Player of the Year for the UNBC Timberwolves.

“I am definitely looking forward to competing in a new league where our goals are set high”, commented Cody. “ I think being a part of a team with top university players or other aspiring players that I have played against for years is something to be excited for too.”

Cody is a defensive midfielder with six years of rich experience with the UNBC Timberwolves, where he played under Highlander’s head coach Steve Simonson. With his return to Victoria, Cody will bring his experience, physicality and grit to the squad.

“I have personal objectives for sure but what I really want is to win the league. I think most of us want to go to the next level and understand how difficult the season could be and working towards that goal will align with all of our personal objectives”, stated Cody.

The Highlanders are fortunate to have a talented local player Islander in Cody on hand this inaugural L1BC season.
