Quotes: Highlander’s

On what the team needs to do to find some success this weekend…

“We need to continue and improve upon the team goals that we have had from the beginning. I think we’re just improving on that and sort of back to basics with it.”

On how the fans play a role in every home match…

“I think it’s really exciting to know that everyone’s there cheering you on. There’s the Lake Side Buoys who bring out their drums and you hear them chanting in the crowd and it helps motivate for sure!”

On the mentality of the team and what will help the group continue to improve going forward…

“yea like I said earlier I think we are continuing to work on our team goals in practice and I think the team is gelling more together as people off the field, so I think that’s going to help improve our play as well.”

Player to watch: Kiana Swift

Returning to the squad after a fantastic University season with UNBC, the Timberwolves midfielder is sure to make an impact on the squad. Swift’s relentless work ethic and ability to cover tremendous ground makes her a pleasure to watch, and a nightmare to play against. You’ll be hard pressed to find a player on the field who is willing to outwork the Victoria native, making her our player to watch this game and all season long!
