The Terrace native needs very little introduction with the extensive honours that he received throughout his time in Victoria. Five years playing for the UVic Vikes between 2011 and 2016, Hundal was a five-time Canada West All-Star, winning the 2011 CIS (now U Sports) National Championship in his first year, as well as Rookie of the year honours. In 2015, Hundal received the CIS Player of the Year as well as becoming a CIS First Team All-Canadian.

“One of my favourite memories of playing with the Highlanders was when we hosted Glasgow Rangers in 2014. It was a massive event, huge crowd and a great experience. I’ve got a lot of memories of playing at Centennial Stadium through my time with UVic and the Highlanders. I'm excited to be returning to play in front of the Victoria fans and I'm very familiar with the field so I think that it will help."

Recently, Hundal has been exploring professional opportunities in USA and Europe (Germany) and recently returned to join Bruce Wilson and the University of Victoria Vikes as an Assistant Coach.

“We want to go as far as we can with the players that we have, and obviously try to build something here in Victoria once again that the community can be proud of," stated Hundal. "We have great fans in Victoria and in the past we've seen them come out in full force. Our part as players is to provide them entertaining soccer, and if they come out and support us it’s so big for us because obviously we need that support to grow the club. Nobody likes going on the road to a team that has a lot of fans and a big crowd, that's what we want in Victoria - we want teams to be scared of playing Victoria at home."

The Highlanders start their season on the road against the Calgary Foothills May 11, with their home opener against the Portland Timbers at Centennial Stadium on May 20. Fans can join the Highlanders players, coaches, owners and fans at the Kick Off Before Kick Off party on Thursday, April 26 at Distrikt Nightclub. Tickets are only $105 and include a season ticket, Highlanders t-shirt, 2 beverage tickets and appies, as well as entry into a door prize. Or you can purchase a $30 ticket at the door.
