Quotes: Highlander’s Mitch Linley
On the main goal for the group now that playoffs are out of reach…
“The main goal for us is to finish this inaugural season off strong, finishing up as high in the table as we can. We have shown that we can compete with anyone in this league, but we need a stronger mentality in order to get the results that we desire.”
On honouring the first responders at home this weekend…
“It’s important to honour our first responders who put their lives on the line to serve and protect the citizens of this great city. Especially after the rare occurrence of the incident on Shelbourne, it’s crucial to pay our respect to those who have fought for our safety and peace.
On what the team needs to do to in order to be successful this weekend…
“We need to work on our mentality in order to finish where we want and close out games. Working on this will help keep our intensity high throughout the entirety of each half and keep the ball out of the back of our net at all times.”
Player to watch: Michael Henman
With 5 goals on the season, Victoria native Michael Henman has proven to be a force for the Highlanders this summer. Henman leads the team in both goals and assists, and will look to add to that tally this weekend!
